Budget Bin Hire win Wastech Cup

2011 Golf Day

This year’s charity golf day for the Sacred Heart Mission in St Kilda was unfortunately played in the rain, however while the course was pretty wet, the spirits of the players was certainly not. Congratulations to all those who played on the day and for your continued support of the Sacred Heart Mission which is several hundred dollars richer as a result of your generosity. While it might have been a tough day on the course, as someone remarked, a bad day on the course is still better than a good day in the office!

This year the trophy (the Wastech Cup) was won by Budget Bin Hire with a score of 593/8th, second place went to Sita Australia on 62 and third place to Cleanaway (TPI) on 621/8th. Pictured is the Managing Director of Wastech, Neil Bone (third from left) presenting the Wastech Cup to Simon Preece, Manager of Budget Bin Hire.

The VWMA charity golf day has been going for over 12 years and is the Association’s key fund raising activity for the Mission. Vin Martin from the Sacred Heart thanked those present for their continued support and said that the Mission was very grateful for all the corporate support from the waste sector.
