Major refurbishment completed by Wastech Engineering

The Citywide Dynon Road Waste Transfer Station is strategically located on the fringe of the Melbourne CBD. As part of a staged refurbishment program, Citywide upgraded and expanded the capacity at the Dynon Road Facility.

The new pit, designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned by Wastech Engineering is the largest waste moving floor pit in Australia, and the first in the world to be constructed from Hardox steel.

The Waste Transfer Station is now capable of processing up to 200,000 tonnes of waste per annum and is operated by Citywide Service Solutions Pty Ltd.

The new pit which has a capacity of 110 tonnes per hour feeds into a Wastech S8000 compactor, and from then is fed into the latest designed Wastech 60m3 Full eject Hardox Transfer Trailer.

The official opening on 3rd December 2009 by Citywide Managing Director Kerry Osborne was presented in the company of Neil Bone from Wastech Engineering, and a number of Citywide key account customers which will be making full use of the new facility.
